Leftfoot 10th Birthday - Marlena Shaw
As mentioned in a previous post it’s Leftfoot’s 10th Birthday this year and the next special guest to make an appearance is the legendary Marlena Shaw on Friday 19th March plus djs Sister 45 (Mama Feel Good) & Griffy

With a recording career going back to the 60’s Marlena has had releases on Cadet, Columbia, Verve, Soul Brother & the mighty Blue Note records amongst others.
My first experience of Marlena Shaw was when she was featured by on David Holmes’ Essential Mix for Radio 1 in 1997, a mix from a gentleman primarily known as a techno dj, that no doubt opened up the ears of the shows regular listeners, turning them on to the joy of funk, jazz and soul in their many forms. A true test of her cross over appeal is the number of times her music has been sampled and remixed by modern artists, including Adam Freeland, St Germain, Dj Shadow, Dj Premier, Faze Action & more.
Once again we are lucky enough to have been given two tickets (worth £30) to give away for this special intimate show. Due to the size of the venue Marlena will be performing two shows on this night, these two tickets are for the 8pm showing only!
